Name of your Tumblr here

Recently graduated from Birmingham City University, specialising in Graphic Design. I like all things digital and everything that generally looks cool. I also play a lot of video games and treat them as a source of insperation rather than "time killer".

This blog is a place for me to reflect on things that I find interesting and worth sharing, some of my own work will be posted here as well.

New Year’s Resolutions 2011

I wanted my 1st 2011 post to be my New Year’s Resolutions, but I didn’t have clear idea what actually possible to achieve or which promises is actually realistic to keep. So after some thinking I think I have a picture.

1.       To spend less money of my pc rig. I posted some blog post on my DA account before getting Tumblr. Basically I upgraded my PC build so much, that to me some it might seem big waste of money. The race for best performance can be addictive. Here is some of price tags of my hardware purchased in 2010:

Intel Core i7 920 2.80GHz @ 4.00GHz Coirsair H50                        £234.89

Asus P6TD Deluxe Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard        £197.97

Sapphire ATI Radeon 5870 Vapor-X OC 1024MB                           £346.91.

These are just some of most expensive parts. Now I have enough computer power to last me for few years I think, without major upgrade. Although the ipad 2 is rumoured to come out and I was thinking of Windows 7 Phone and upgrading to SSD technology and getting more RAM….QQ

2.       To try harder at uni. Getting productivity tracking software gives me actually hard data that I slack way too much. Granted, I spend literary 95% of my free time on the computer so the leisure time mixes in as well but still, all most all of my projects were last minute ideas without actual deep development (briefs sucks might something to do with it).

3.       Spend more time outside of my apartment. I got used to routine to be stuck to internet while eating snacks that I barely went outside to take pictures last year. When I 1st came to Birmingham (2008), I wanted to take slow shutter speed photos of the canals but never got around to it. My main excuse was that my camera wasn’t good enough, but now I got Canon 550D so I must do it. Summer 2010 I also wanted to do HDR photos when I come back to UK, but also got attacked my laziness. Also I didn’t take any of workshops yet, mainly because in terms of software I’m pretty knowledgeable, but this year I want to learn something manual  like screen printing for example.

I’ll probably won’t be able keep all of them because person can’t go “cold turkey” without someone controlling himJ and now I must work out mechanism to remind myself of this post so I don’t forget lol.
